'I must have flowers, always, and always'

Do you know who said that very famous quote? It was Claude Monet. He found so much beauty in flowers, that he wanted to express that in his paintings. This shows the importance of being surrounded by things that inspire us. I found this amazing video snippet of him (which is very rare) and you can see him in action in his wonderful garden. In my recent paintings I am trying to show my gratitude for the diverse colours, shapes and even personalities of flowers we have the pleasure of enjoying. I always try and fill my studio with plants and flowers, to keep me inspired and it makes me feel like I have company in  my studio.
