"There are always flowers for those who want to see them" - Henri Matisse
"There are always flowers for those who want to see them" - Henri Matisse Yes this quote is by one of my favourite ever artists, Henri Matisse. His work really is just beautiful that it recreates what we imagine we see. It is Henri Matisse and Monet that inspire my floral artworks. It had been a few months since I had done any floral artworks after my ocean moment. But I was missing the variety of colours I can use with flowers.
I started a larger piece and decided to use oils. My older piece called 'Away with the Fairies' was done in oils and I wanted to create a similar feel and texture. However, I quickly realised why I moved to acrylics. The stink that permeated my whole house got to my throat...ouch! But I opened a few windows and carried on - the painting comes first!
I am really loving the piece so far and I'm filming the process so I can show you. I will upload to YouTube soon. You can also follow me on social media and see 'behind the scenes' snapshots of the painting so far. You can find me on Instagram, Twitter & Facebook.
I have only managed to do a little bit of painting recently as I've been focussing on some more admin tasks like accounts etc. There is also the constant emails, orders and packaging that needs taking care of everyday too. It soon drowns out painting time. When I finally get to paint again, I get lost in my own little world of mixing colours.
