This painting was created from life on a warm summer’s evening by Loch Tay. I hadn’t planned on painting, but as the sun began to set, the landscape transformed with deep blues and purples, and I couldn’t resist. I quickly grabbed my paints and easel, starting with a soft peach undertone to give the scene a gentle, glowing warmth. I wanted to keep the colours pale and serene against the contrasted foreground, allowing the silhouette of the trees to stand out.

It’s a reminder of how easy it can be to miss these moments.
