In this painting, I wanted to convey the beauty of roses in an unconventional way. I used bold abstract texture with a palette knife to scrape paint across the canvas and create heavy marks. Adding subtle hints of pinks and blues helps soften the piece and gives it a dreamy atmosphere. The first few layers were created with acrylic, and later layers were refined with oils. The roses have sheer hints of yellow to add beauty and brightness.
